Thrifty Thursday — Dresses and Jeans

A while back, I wrote a post describing my love of thrift stores and consignment shops. Click here to see the AMAZING shoes I bought for less than $4.00! Well, since Spring has arrived and I needed a few items to spruce up my wardrobe, I thought I’d share my cute finds with my Sweetie Pies.

Yesterday, I went to a thrift store with my aunt. When she walked into the store she said, “I’m not in the mood for this.” She didn’t find much. I found all kinds of things, and my total for everything was less than $20.00. So, my big rule for thrift store shopping is this — Be in the mood for the treasure hunt! If you’re not, it will all look like junk to you.

I found these dresses (perfect for semi-formal or black tie events):

This top from Cache (a great silky material that’s just right for Girls Night Out):

gold blouse

And this suede jacket (which I happily grabbed for under $5.00 and put away for Fall):

I also got a hot tip from a lady I follow on YouTube, AfricanExport (make sure to check out her blog, especially my fellow naturalista sistas), about Levis jeans in curvy skinny and curvy bootcut at Walmart for under $20.00. If you have hips and booty, then this is pure happiness! I have been known to pay $50 or more for a pair of jeans that fit just right, so the price point is a revelation. I picked up one of each. No regrets. 🙂

Last thing — this morning I stopped by Dollar General for some gardening supplies and found these earrings on clearance. I ended up paying $7.00 for all of these. In fact, I’m wearing a pair of them now. Win!

Do you like finding good deals? What’s the best deal you’ve ever found?
